Welcome to Fryeburg, Maine. Home of the famous Fryeburg Fair, New England's largest agricultural event held annually the 1st of October. Fryeburg is also home to Fryeburg Academy, a local private secondary school that serves the nearby towns of Fryeburg, Brownfield, Denmark, Lovell, Stoneham, Sweden, Albany and Chatham, NH. Among the famous past residents of Fryeburg are Daniel Webster, former academy head master (1782-1852), Admiral Perry, Clarence Mulford, author of the Hopalong Cassidy books/movies.

This charming village retains the early charm and is centrally located for a rich recreational experience. The Saco River meanders through town and is popular with kayakers and canoeists. Sunday River, Shawnee Peak, Cranmore, Attitash, Wildcat, and Black Mountain alpine ski areas are an easy drive. Great Glen Falls and Jackson Ski Touring and popular Nordic ski areas close by.

For those who like large-lake activities we have Lake Kezar, Lovewell Pond, Moose Pond, Highland Lake, Conway Lake, Long Lake, Hancock Pond and Sebago Lake. In addition there are numerous small lakes nearby where fishing, paddling and swimming are popular.
